Of Dutch origin, reportedly in the service of the Dutch East India Company in Indonesia, relocating to India after the British took over Dutch possessions. Reportedly Acting Governor of Java in the late 1700's, but nothing found to confirm this information.
Thought to be the father of Emilia & Godlieb below, but no evidence to support this theory!! More probably a brother, see Peter Robert Van Someren of Penang below.
